Overall Satisfaction with Bitbucket

Bitbucket within our company is used as our main code repository and our preferred Git version control platform. It is used across our whole organization as we have migrated from GitHub earlier this year. The business problem it addresses is, it is responsible for hosting our code, team code collaboration, and general code maintenance of our project.
  • Integrates with Atlassian software suite
  • Simple and easy to use UI
  • Free private repositories
  • Pull requests and code reviews are easy to do with Bitbucket
  • Not open-source
  • Less integration with software outside of Atlassian suite
  • Missing two factor authentication
  • Increased code readability and structure with the help of interactive code reviews that include comments, and reviewers.
  • Bitbucket for large organizations utilizing the Atlassian suite of software comes out to be much cheaper than GitHub.
  • Functionality is organized and seamless with other Atlassian products, which has helped save time in setup and maintenance.
Our organization previously used GitHub as our VCS host and the move to Bitbucket has been very smooth and without any hassles, our team really enjoys the simple and easy to use UI over GitHub which allows for interactive code reviewing, the code search engine is also more optimized and works better than the one we were used to with GitHub.
Bitbucket is an amazing tool for Git and Mercurial VCS based teams, with an easy to use interface with full-fledged features such as code reviews that include comments, pull request reviewers, and a very in-depth code analysis and search engine. I really enjoy using Bitbucket for the unlimited private repositories.
