We replaced our old CYMA software with Blackbaud Financial Edge NXT in order to have a complete accounting system in one program instead of having CYMA along with hundreds of spreadsheets.
- Accounts Payable.
- Credit Card Charges.
- Vendors.
- Budgeting.
- Bank Account Downloads frequently down.
- It improved expense management.
- It improved process efficiency.
- Improved controls.
It has enabled us to track items more efficiently and has helped us increase the reliability of our internal controls through the system of approval rules.
The dashboards are a nice feature to be able to see what items you are more interested in tracking. The flexibility of each user being able to set up their own dashboards is very helpful, as not everyone is interested in seeing the same items.
QuickBooks is not set up to handle projects, grants, or fund accounting. CYMA is not set up to handle fund accounting either. This made it very difficult to track items at the project level without having to rely on spreadsheets and a highly manual process to combine the information into reports that were useful.
