Overall Satisfaction with BlueJeans
In our organisation BlueJeans is used to run meetings involving multiple parties, in different physical locations. The entire APPLiA - Home Appliance Europe uses it. The key business problem it addresses is the coordination across multiple geographical areas in complex topics.
- Very easy to set up a conference call
- The link to use for a user is always available, and can be used multiple times without expiry date
- There is no need for a "coordinator" to join before starting the conference
- "Muting" a participant who is on a noisy environment could be done in a easier way
- The number of concurrent people in a call is, for some strange reason, limited to 25 - when I pay for 100 concurrent users
- The noise cancelling technology could be improved
- Less face-to-face meetings, leading to savings in travel cost
- More productive meetings, as having to condense the discussion in a limited time-frame, helps to keep everybody's focus
- Less telephony expenses, as using Voice Over IP reduced the fixed lines cost
- GoToMeeting and Skype for Business (formerly Lync)
The landscape of similar services is quite densely populated. To name a few among those, it came to my mind GoToMeeting and Skype. All of them provide the basic functionalities, and more or less the same quality in terms of audio / video / screen sharing functionalities. The decision to go for one, or the other, it really a matter of preferences. I found BlueJeans easy to use, intuitive, and correctly priced.
