Overall Satisfaction with Bonterra Case Management
The [...] is an all-volunteer nonprofit 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization with a mission to help people experiencing or at risk of homelessness move towards self-sufficiency and find a safe home in our community (Santa Clara County, California). Volunteer case managers use Bonterra Case Management Apricot Core to track programs to help people apply for public assistance and affordable housing. The business problems include the need to understand as much as we can about each client's needs to triage, then help with immediate needs, while also creating a roadmap to find housing.

Cons
- Reminders or "ticklers" so we don't miss an action or appointment
- Some information seems repetitive in different files (but might be how we set up our customization).
- Bigger message to remind me to SAVE Record :)
- I have found it hard to link records, but I'm not a super user
- Improves ability to communicate between case managers
- We can access it almost anywhere, though by cell has been a bit harder.
- This has greatly increased efficiency from prior use of spreadsheets! We still use a lot of spreadsheets, unfortunately, but leveraging Bonterra Case Management Apricot Core has made it easier to track who is doing what for each client, what might be done 'next' (ie project manage), and to link projects.
- Improved efficiency has helped us scale more than just relative to the number of volunteers we have. We helped 3x the number of people in 2023 vs 2022, in part because of using Bonterra Case Management Apricot Core.
Yes we run reports so we can get the metrics we need to see how we are improving. This has also given us other ideas regarding how we can be more efficient, what steps we might eliminate (we have eliminated a lot of paper and some spreadsheets!). I would prefer for one of our super users / founders to provide specifics.
By using Bonterra Case Management Apricot Core Reports, we were able to more efficiently get metrics to include in grant applications that led to more funding.
I was not part of that process; I began using Bonterra Case Management Apricot Core in 2022 upon joining this nonprofit and have not used anything similar. In my prior career in marketing for diagnostic / medical device companies I would compare this to my use of Salesforce.com, which we customized for each company I was in. I found Bonterra Case Management Apricot Core easier to learn.
