Overall Satisfaction with Apricot by Social Solutions

Nourish Now is a food assistance nonprofit with a team of 10, meaning that we all do a little bit everything, including Apricot data entry, form creation and report generation. Our original intention for the software was to track our incoming and outgoing food donations, and the individuals and organizations/businesses from which and to which the food was donated. For this purpose, we have been able to generate reports that demonstrate our biggest food donors, single largest food donations, number of clients served, and many other pieces of information impressive to our supporters. We have expanded the information we take from clients to include more demographic and household information to better determine and report on who we are helping and to what degree. This has helped us to aim our efforts in the most effective ways for our community and the organization.

Currently we are working with the Calendar integration feature to eliminate the need to use GCal to book client appointments, separately form Apricot. This us a unique adaptation as we have had the opportunity to work closely with the Social Solutions staff to resolve these issues.

  • Custom fields allow you to craft Apricot to do what you need it to do
  • Reports could be more customizable and simplified in appearance
  • Calendar Integration needs work all around- appearance, linking client/org profiles to appointments, overlapping appointments (we see the potential but the tool is still unusable for our organization at this point)
  • Forms for data entry could be more user-friendly by 'jumping' to next fields, quicker date selection. There are forms all over the web that react way better. Why not Apricot?
  • Follow-up reports are automatic after initial set up
  • Investors are impressed by the clean reports
  • We are more prepared for Audit season
During our 2nd year, when we began using Apricot, we experienced a two-year period where the organization more than doubled in staff, physical size, capacity, impact, and community recognition.
Corporations and individual funders have been able to see our growth and impact through Apricot reporting. Also in repeat grant rewards, we have seen an increase in funding.
We were using spreadsheets before Apricot.
I can see the application for nonprofits, in general. It is perfect for recording clients, a variety of donation types, collaborator and other organization activity. Food banks are a great application, in my opinion.
