Overall Satisfaction with Cisco Intersight Infrastructure Service

We use Cisco Intersight Infrastructure Service for our server infrastructure. It works very well to manage day-to-day operations. I think this is an improvement over the older UCS manager that we used to use. We've been very happy overall with it. We also enjoy that it can do predictive hardware failures and will open TAC cases automatically.

  • No hardware is needed on-prem to run it
I personally think that Cisco Intersight Infrastructure Service is at the top of its class when it comes to managing data center hardware. The cloud-connected design feels very modern and easy to use. The mobile app is something I wouldn't expect to get in a server management tool. The way it can update, monitor, and manage our servers is very nice. Overall, we are very happy with it.
TAC is normally very good about alerting us with predictive hardware failures and will send replacements. TAC normally does a good job when we need to call them for support.
We don't have to worry about CIMC updates and interface restrictions like before. UCS manager had a lot of options in it but were hard to manage and navigate at times. Cisco Intersight Infrastructure Service's interface feels modern and new. I think it's simple which makes it easier to use. We've used Dell and HPE servers in the past and they didn't really offer a competing product like this one. I think this makes training new staff members easier, especially if they have less data center and server management experience.
We have not done any real API integration yet.

Cisco Nexus Series Switches, Cisco Catalyst 9500 Series Switches, Cisco 800 Series Integrated Services Routers (ISR 800)
Being able to keep an eye on our data center from anywhere is very nice. The modern GUI is easy to use and understand. I don't mind working within the Cisco Intersight Infrastructure Service and find it easier than some other server manufacturers. If you have stand-alone UCS C servers or UCS blade servers you can have both within Cisco Intersight Infrastructure Service. Older models work with it as well.
