Overall Satisfaction with Cisco IP Phones

The University have a Cisco Call Manager, and we use Cisco IP Phones for end users. We currently have about 1500 Cisco IP Phones in production, of which with 1400 assigned to staff, about 50 assigned to meeting rooms and another 40 are used as wall phones. We also have 10 operator consoles. We have over 10 models in use to cater for different needs.
  • Answering calls
  • Call groups
  • Multiple lines
  • Hinge construction could be improved
  • Positive ROI
  • Phones last for a long time
  • Great functionality such as conference calls and video calls
Cisco IP Phones were far superior in their offering of phones.
Cisco was able to offer
- phones with 8 lines with expansion up to 24 lines for operators.
- phone with video calling
- conference phones with multiple microphones
- wireless phones
- multi-line phones
This has been a plus for our communication within our workplace. We can easily create an adhoc audio conference on the fly and one-on-one video meetings. Audio and video are of a very high quality, which is very much appreciated by all end users.
Cisco support for me has always been my biggest issue with Cisco. It is very difficult to open a ticket without having your support contact info updated on Cisco Portal, which in most cases, is dependent on resellers getting this done in a timely manner.

separate voice vlan and a network port to also connect another device. Cisco IP Phones support a lot of features such as call forwarding, call
parking, call divert among others. I cannot think of a scenario
