These access points are used for connecting small offices and, typically, we were looking for some sort of access points, so these came in handy.

  • API

Yes

Did Cisco Meraki MR live up to sales and marketing promises?

No

Did implementation of Cisco Meraki MR go as expected?

Yes

Would you buy Cisco Meraki MR again?

Yes

  • It provides a long lead time.
  • In our experience, some devices were faulty upon arrival.
  • External antennas were not powerful in my opinion.
Cisco Meraki MR is really quick to set up. It gives layer 7 visibility and we can check application usage. Since the configuration is in the cloud, we don't need to ask users to connect to the "console" during troubleshooting.
For some sites, we have this combination of Cisco Meraki MS and Cisco Meraki MR, which works well as both are cloud-managed solutions.
Essentially, there is no configuration needed to use the device. All that needs to be done is delivery of the device and getting the end user to connect it to an Internet-enabled connection. The rest can be done remotely. No more consoling in!
We use these for small offices where they come in perfectly. We use Cisco Meraki MR for sites that just need internet access and we can monitor what traffic is being used.
