Overall Satisfaction with Cisco Meraki MR

150 sites across the world, each with wireless requirement for users, guest users as well as for IOT devices.
Meraki MR (access points) are easy to setup, configure, manage and monitor. Support for Layer2 isolation, basic policies and traffic shaping are really adding to the overall value. Anyone with basic networking knowledge is able to configure.
  • multiple SSIDs with different access options
  • from PSK authentication to Enterprise WPA2 or even iPSK without Radius
  • great GUI with easy and intuitive setup
  • missing authentication with IDP provider integrations like Azure Entra ID
  • price range around 250-500$ after discounting per AP is quite affordable for business unless you need to deploy few hundered
  • great solution for hotels, dorms, universities, retail
work can be done with 1-2 people, comparing to Cisco Aironet APs, where the learning curve is much steeper. No WLC required. Everything is cloud and intuitive. Average person can setup successful wireless deployment. It will not be perfect, but it will start. For making it perfect you need to know a bit about wireless and follow best wireless practices.
cloud managed, easy to setup, good ROI. No need to pay for 3 network administrators just for wireless. Quality of products is great, they do not fail and have quite decent life span.
APs know about each other, they can automatically adjust power and RF channels. If the AP fail, they will increase power to cover the hole. If the AP has connectivity issues with upstream switch, it can automatically switch to mesh mode and form the connection over the air with neighboring AP.
good value for the money, reliable, lifetime warranty
