Overall Satisfaction with Cisco UCS Series
We use these servers as both lab equipment. We run VMware ESXi and Linux on these servers. This is older servers (M4 and M5). We have tested running Kubernetes with the help of Intersight. This is on really old servers (M3).
We also have newer hardware (M6) that we are going to test Nutaninx on once that is released without Fabric Interconnects.

- Central Management
- Upgrades of Server firmware
- RBAC
- Server profiles
- HCL during upgrades
- Simplify network configuration
- Simpler management
- Easier troubleshooting
- Possible to move server profile from 1 hardware to another
I think the Cisco UCS Series is better or at least as good as other servers, but the management of the Cisco UCS Series servers have a simpler management when using Fabric Interconnects. No other manufacturer of Server hardware is close to doing anything close to what Cisco has accomplished (as far as I know).
There is a little bit of a learning curve to learn how to manage the Cisco UCS Series with Fabric Interconnects, but when you have learned this you are golden.

1. Much faster to implement new networks to the servers, as this is done centrally with UCS-manager in the fabric Interconnects.
2. Also much faster to add or remove servers from the datacenter with UCS -manager.
3. Simpler to replace faulty hardware, since we can move the server profile to a new hardware without a need for config of the separate server/blade.

Yes, as I have worked a long time with Cisco UCS Series I was able to teach my colleagues how this is done and now we are really satisfied and faster than before.
