Overall Satisfaction with DeskTime

DeskTime is used at our company to track employee time for project tickets. It's not being used by an entire organization, but on a team-by-team basis. The business problem that it addresses for this company is finding a good, efficient way to track how much time is being spent per employee, per project ticket.
  • Personal time management
  • Customer Service
  • Easy to use UI
  • Potential to over-monitor employee time usage
  • No task tracking feature
  • Realization of own poor time management
  • URL tracking
  • Absence Calendar
  • Offline/Online tracking
  • Increased awareness of own time management
  • Better understanding of ticket time predictions vs reality
  • Easier observation of team's out of office status
I was not a part of the selection of DeskTime, but DeskTime seems to have the easiest to use UI, the best rated customer service, and a substantial feature set as compared to some of the competitors. I was not aware of price differences for enterprise use, but I assume it is just as competitive as the others in order to have been selected.

Do you think DeskTime delivers good value for the price?

Yes

Are you happy with DeskTime's feature set?

Yes

Did DeskTime live up to sales and marketing promises?

I wasn't involved with the selection/purchase process

Did implementation of DeskTime go as expected?

Yes

Would you buy DeskTime again?

Yes

I would say that a scenario where DeskTime is well suited is for personal use in a private business. DeskTime does exactly what it advertises, and it does it very well. However, I think there is a lot of potential for over-monitoring of your employees, or over-monitoring from high ups in larger companies. In a private business for personal use, you're only monitoring your own time management, so you can adjust as needed.
