Overall Satisfaction with DraftSight
I have been a supporter and user for several years, upgrading to the paid subscription to get more features. Recently I renewed my subscription and upgraded to DS 2019 SP2. Now it does not work at all. I cannot edit any drawings and essentially the software is useless and I cannot get any support.
- They make good products. I use SOLIDWORKS occasionally but am not good at it. Great product, but installation support and operational support is lacking. I use DraftSight a great deal. Great for those items which only require 2D which is still a fair amount of the time.
- Lots of information on the web about how to accomplish specific tasks, though one has to sometimes read between the lines on AutoCAD support versus DraftSight support.
- Publish some training references (books) specifically on the use of DraftSight.
- Right now, it is a waste of money.
- Their direction to add more 3D functionality is a nice tie to the SOLIDWORKS world.
