Overall Satisfaction with Dropbox
I have 100s of GBs of data that I need to quickly analyze across devices as well as save for long periods of time. I use this service on all my devices to keep them in sync, and so do my friends. A majority of software, such as Emacs, that I use on multiple devices stays in sync via Dropbox. Unlike alternative cloud storage services, dropbox provides a Linux client, which is absolutely necessary for my needs. I have been using it for 10+ years, and now my storage requirements have increased to a couple of terabytes, personally. Dropbox is value for money and quite convenient.
- Share data.
- Keep softwares in sync via data sharing.
- Store huge amounts of data for quick access.
- Pricing for students could be better.
- On some proxy networks, sometimes it fails to work on some PCs in my lab.
- Allowing more free devices could be helpful for beginners.
- Sharing data files is easy.
- making files easily downloadable for other party is great.
- Not having the other party to login is also helpful.
Dropbox is available for Linux which is a game changer. Moreover, the syncing speeds on Dropbox are really fast. It is value for money for businesses. However, for personal use, one drive is much cheaper and therefore more affordable for personal use. However, in a professional scenario or to get things done, dropbox is the way to go. Never had a syncing issue in Dropbox, whereas sometimes there are conflicts or file syncing issues in one drive.
