Overall Satisfaction with eTapestry

eTapestry was used to process donations and to manage donor data.
  • It's a great entry-level donor data system for small nonprofits. It's a great alternative to more generalized small-scale database products like Access and FileMaker Pro.
  • It allows for easy searching of donor data.
  • It provides an easy way to export donor data for mailing lists, financial reports, etc.
  • It's a very simple system so it doesn't allow for tracking more complex types of giving like split gifts.
  • The data entry options are limited and only so many fields can be created.
  • It's not suited for environments where there is a high level of donor cultivation.
  • Salesforce.com,The Raiser's Edge,Infusionsoft,FileMaker Pro,Microsoft Access
eTapestry is good in that it's cloud-based and affordable but not suited for more demanding fundraising environments.
It's suited for small nonprofits.
The key question is your budget, how much you raise per year, and the skill level of those who will be using it. It's a an option worth considering for nonprofits who can't spend more than ~$2,000/yr on a system, who raise less than $500,000/yr., and who don't have seasoned donor database staff.
