Overall Satisfaction with EveryAction

We use EveryAction to manage a 90,000 member database (CRM), including tracking donations, campaign participation, member interests, contact information, and email program. We have both staff and volunteers managing the database.
  • Expansive member profile options, that are easy to customize.
  • Solid list segmentation options, if a bit clunky in execution.
  • Processes donations easily.
  • Customer service is pretty bad - often unresponsive, a lot of passing off to other members of staff, general lack of knowledge about the product, etc. Their employees seem like they hate working there.
  • Unless you have a dedicated staff member to manage profiles, get rid of dupes, etc, it becomes unwieldy quickly.
  • Action Network has better UX and tools (petitions, letters to lawmakers, etc) at cheaper prices.
  • Lots of duplicate emails to members (like emailing their preferred email and work email) and it will not stop, so negatively impacts deliverability
  • Frustrating lack of existing "how to" guidance/tutorials, so we end up having to make a lot of them.
  • It's expensive for how frustrating it is.
Staff can implement it fine, but everything is on a learning curve - there is not a lot of intuitiveness built into the product. It's very difficult to onboard new people to using it quickly, which is frustrating and slows us down, creates bottlenecks, etc. So, we can get by fine, but it's not ideal at all.
The CRM itself is obviously available all the time, I've never seen in offline, but getting staff to engage with you and provide useful support is usually not straight forward, and their "help" usually just centers on a sales pitch to upgrade beyond our budget. As mentioned, the customer support/service is really lacking.
The fundraising tools are very useful and fairly easy to use - it's probably one of the better designed parts of the program and has been useful. The digital marketing tools are pretty standard to something you can get with any of their competitors - not much to write home about. The advocacy tools are fine, but do not integrate attractively or easily with Squarespace websites.

Action Network is better, cheaper, and does the same thing as EveryAction. In all honesty, we are abandoning EveryAction in the coming months and transition to Action Network because we are tired of paying high rates for an unwieldy tools with poor support services. Again, we are a small organization (just 5 staff), and I think the tool is suited to much larger orgs.
It's a tool that is a bit too big and expensive for small organizations, and offers little in the way of customer support/service. So, unless you can afford a dedicated database manager, it would be difficult for me to recommend this tool. If you can, its very powerful and may be a good fit,
