Overall Satisfaction with Google Voice

Google Voice is used when our company conducts interviews with prospective employees or for market research. This helps protect the individual making the calls so that they are not harassed on their personal mobile phone number or on their desk phone in the office. It's a safety thing for our office and employees that needed to be implemented after we had a stalking situation.

  • The last time I checked you can't send media through Google Voice text messages.
  • It doesn't filter out spam calling.
  • I want an easier way to be able to change the Google Voice number.
  • Positive: Our employees feel safer when conducting interviews.
  • Positive: Our interview subjects don't know that it isn't one of our numbers so their experience isn't impacted.
  • Positive: Since the phone app is so easy to use (compared to video conferences like Zoom or GoToMeeting), we spend more time speaking to our candidates rather than try to resolve technical issues.

Zoom is good. It's a great video conference option that can be made to just utilize your voice. But then it gets complicated by adding meeting rooms and passwords and other features that really aren't needed when you just want to make a phone call. Google Voice allows us to quickly and easily jump on a call.
Our company really likes using Google Voice because of the security it provides our employees. They aren't nervous anymore when it comes to interacting with the public and don't have to defend themselves from the anger of individuals who might not have been selected to move forward in the interview process. Its simple to use and we'd do it again in a heartbeat.

We used to interview prospective employees by calling them on our mobile phones. We had a particular candidate that was not chosen to move to the next interview start stalking the person who conducted the interview which evolved into harassment and personal life security issues. By implementing Google Voice on the phones, we have a wall between employee and candidate.
