Overall Satisfaction with GoToMeeting

The organization where I work is one of the biggest banks in my country and has over 75 branches across the country. Sometimes there are meetings held in order to understand the pros and cons of new banking products and the main risks the bank would face (both financial and good-will risks) if it launches a new product in the market. That's why we use GoToMeeting.
  • It is very easy to use. Even after the first time, you figure out how it works.
  • It gives you the possibility of having a very large number of attendees (up to 250), so you do not worry about the number of people that can join.
  • If your internet connection is bad, or your computer is old, it does not work properly.
  • Sometimes, when there are more that 20 people in the meeting, video quality declines.
  • It is a time-saver, as it allows you to have meetings with people that are not in the same location as you.
  • The price of GoToMeeting is not very high, so it definitely is worth it to use GoToMeeting in large companies.
The quality of audio and video are much better in GoToMeeting compared to Skype. Also the connection issues are not as common as with Skype. However, it was not my choice to use GoToMeeting (it was management's decision).
As I mentioned before the audio system works perfectly, and you have the feeling that the person speaking is in the room with you. The video quality is not always at the highest level. Sometimes when there are lots of participants, the video starts buffering. Also, if your internet connection is not very good the video quality will not be the highest.
Overall I have very positive experiences, participating in external meetings using GoToMeeting. First, it saves for me a ton of time. Second, the video and audio quality is good. Third, you can record a meeting. Also, you can activate your camera anytime you want, and I really appreciate that.
It improves our organization's productivity a lot. Before using GoToMeeting, we were unable to organize a meeting where all concerned participants can express their thoughts. So in the past, there were cases when we were not able to make the best decision regarding some major risks of new banking products, as some of the marketing department members were not able to connect via SkypeBusiness. Now, we do not have such issues.
It is super easy to use. GoToMeeting is very user friendly, as the interface of the site( and also the GotToMeeting app) are very good. It does not take much time or effort for new users to understand how GoToMeeting works. Also it gives you very quick access to the meeting. You just enter their home web page, click the "join" button, type a meeting ID, and you are already in the meeting.
If you are going to have large meetings with lots of people and you all have a good internet connection, then GoToMeeting is a right and rational choice for you. Also, it allows you to record a meeting, which might be very important in some companies. But if you have a small team and you do not have a meeting every day, Skype is a better alternative as it is free to use, and the quality of the video and audio is almost the same as in the case of GoToMeeting.
