Overall Satisfaction with iMovie
We were using iMovie before we switched to using Adobe After Effects and it was great for someone who is just beginning in video editing. Definitely much more user-friendly than something like After Effects and you still get a pretty good end result! I would recommend for the beginning or casual video editor.
- Simple: The functions are very easy to use in this software as opposed to more advanced software.
- Quick: Even as an advanced video editor this program is easy to use for quick edits.
- Transitions: Some of the transitions are pretty cheesy.
- More output options.
- Quick: I can throw a few clips together in no time to create a beautiful video ad for social media.
- Easy to use: It's easy for everyone in the office to use. Very intuitive unlike more advanced video editing software.
- I don't think it has had a negative impact at all. It is easy to use, cuts down time spent on video editing in more complex software and has produced some really great ads
iMovie has its place in the world of video editing software. It's definitely not the fanciest on the market but it is simple and easy to use and gets the job done and done well! There are times where I'll gravitate toward iMovie because I just don't need the extra features that come with something like AfterEffects. My colleagues also prefer it since they have less video editing experience and their computers aren't as well equipped to handle something like AfterEffects
