Overall Satisfaction with Intacct

Our firm uses Intacct as well as approximately five clients. Using Intacct allows ease of access to accounting info from various locations other than the office. The combined use with Bill.com has greatly reduced time requirements for payables, processing, and approval.
  • Great ability to move from financial statement balances to general ledger and individual transaction detail.
  • Ability to customize user permissions.
  • The multi entity environment is excellent for franchise & franchisee information reporting.
  • Customizing reports is very cumbersome and cryptic.
  • Pricing is very hard to understand.
  • Better support response and ability to reach support person you have worked with in the past.
  • Increased employee and accounting staff efficiency.
  • Great for collaboration with accountant and tax preparer.
  • Able to service clients more timely with up to date information.
  • QuickBooks Online,Xero
Intacct is much more complex for training and use than Xero. QuickBooks provides much more varied reporting ability from a standard reports point of view. Intacct has them all beat when it comes to multiple entity reporting and consolidation. The multi entity environment Intacct provides beats the competition for that function hands down.
For a number of client staff, the learning curve might be a bit steep. For non accounting staff especially. The customizable dashboards are absolutely fantastic. I love the ability to put pertinent accounting information right in front of the user when they log in. Especially the ability to add links to other software apps right on the dashboard.
Intacct is well suited for companies requiring multiple users with varied responsibilities and information access. It is less appropriate for cash basis reporting for small business with just owner and possibly bookkeeper access required. It is excellent for handling multiple entities with matching or similar chart of accounts and report design in the multi entity environment .
