Overall Satisfaction with Kofax Power PDF
We use it daily to convert documents to Word, merge PDFs, make them searchable, add Bates labels, etc. We also use it to edit PDFs or fill in PDF forms.
- Very user friendly way to convert a PDF to other forms, super helpful to fill out PDF forms without having to use a type writer, lots of great options for merging files and easily reordering the pages.
- (1) I have not figured out how to integrate it with Netdocuments so that I can save files directly FROM Kofax into Netdocuments (I have to save on desktop and upload; at prior firm I was able to do it directly);
- (2) I wish there were an easier way to remove or update Bates labels once applied;
- (3) I would like an easier feature for leaving comments within a PDF -- maybe I just haven't figured out the best way, but I hate using the sticky notes. If I add comments, I want a super easy way to them PULL those comments from the document as a group showing page number for the comment. It would help a ton with document review.
- I think my notes above demonstrate how much it helps with efficiency. My partner was not used to doing things himself at our old firm and he now routinely converts PDFs to word, merges PDFs, OCRs PDFs, etc. It was eye-opening for him to see how quick and easy it is to just do all of those things right away instead of asking an assistant to do it.
Other than the points noted above, it has been easy to use. I wish free training were available with purchase of the license. I already knew the software really well, so it all seemed intuitive to me. But, I had to teach it to my partner and routinely field questions on how to do certain things he hasn't tried before.
Just Adobe, but not a fancy version. Kofax became my main product as soon as our old firm got the license.

The type writer and edit feature have been game changers for us. It allows us a convenient way to fill in PDF forms for Courts, etc. It also gives us an easy option for editing a PDF of a filing or letter once packaged up to send without having to go back to the Word document, correct, and re-compile. That has saved us precious time when we otherwise would have probably had to just let the small error (like a typo) remain to avoid missing a filing deadline.
