Overall Satisfaction with Kofax Power PDF (formerly Nuance)

We are using Kofax Power PDF for converting documents to and from PDF format with other formats. This is a great assistance in a legal practice that uses various forms of documents. I previously used the Nuance version and this Kofax version is even better. Very happy with it & would recommend it to others.
  • Converting documents from PDF to other formats.
  • Number stamping documents (formerly Bates).
  • Combining documents into one PDF file.
  • The number stamping feature could be explained a little better but I figured it out.
  • Better user manual with examples.
  • Ordering documents with better control when number stamping.
  • Kofax is more affordable than Adobe and pesters me less with E-mails.
  • I have seen no negative impacts from using Kofax.
I am not that literate when it comes to using PDF files with various programs. The Kofax interface was clear enough for me to figure out what to do almost immediately. I did not require hours of training to figure out how to use its features. It's user friendly.
I have used Adobe in various forms. I am not a fan of Acrobat. I do like Kofax Power PDF and would recommend it to someone who is trying to decide what PDF software to use in a legal office. It has all the document features that a law firm needs.
When I've needed help (not often), I've received it. No complaints. Assistance is available through the program and through direct contact. I have usually found what I needed through the program, but it's good to know direct assistance is also available if needed. I feel very supported with Kofax.

The conversion feature has been extremely helpful. I can convert documents from and to MS Word and WordPerfect. The WordPerfect usability is very valuable to me as this is the program I use the most in my practice. The number (Bates) stamping feature is also very usable once you learn how to use it.
Very well suited to converting documents and number stamping. I have seen no area yet where Adobe Acrobat is better. I have not yet had to ask others to work in Acrobat on a feature I could not find and use on Kofax. And Kofax is more affordable.
