Overall Satisfaction with Lifesize Video Conferencing

Was happy with the deployment for the hardware that could join Lifesize Cloud. Was disappointing to hear some users found it problematic and wondered about their wireless or other access situations. Other issues included renaming devices after we understood how to better present rooms and devices within the new directory.
We use it across our organization and to support distance education in the school districts we serve. We used it for both individual and classroom interactive conferencing and for recording and streaming other events and training.
  • Lifesize Cloud extended our abilities for videoconferencing into desktops and integrated with our existing legacy equipment.
  • It added a directory of users, rooms or equipment which we had not utilized previously.
  • Using Lifesize Video Center, it provided the ability for any endpoint to record and/or stream content as needed.
  • Some users find the desktop interface or experience difficult to use or problematic to get and stay connected causing them to either miss meeting conversations or to use other products for video needs.
  • Some legacy hardware deployed was not compatible with the latest Lifesize Cloud leaving a difficult choice to upgrade all or keep some running as is have have separate worlds to manage.
  • The chat features within Lifesize Cloud desktop product were weak at first leaving us without a consistent messaging and video platform. It has improved over time, but gathering employees and others we communicate with back into one system has not happened.
If your hardware is current (Icon) and you can afford the other features within Lifesize Cloud (recording) then it can be a great product. If you have a variety of legacy hardware or vendors, need or have other on-premise equipment, then this it more difficult to merge into a hybrid plan rather than abandoning previous investments and fork-lifting hardware to the current models.
