Overall Satisfaction with Outreach

We use Outreach for all our outbound sales prospecting. It's been our go to tool for email campaigns that are focused around sales, and I personally have used it almost since Outreach launched years ago. They have an affordable price, and their software is always leading the pack when it comes to features focused on helping sales people sell more. It has been the main tool in helping us set up cadences and consistently and regularly hit sales goals by getting new clients.
  • They have the best features in the business for sales minded people - little things like, omit holidays, automatically resume OOO emails, and their reply detection all make this a joy to use.
  • Their software has always been consistent despite going through a redesign this year.
  • They have integration with SFDC if needed, but they act as a CRM Lite in a ton of situations.
  • They have a great Chrome extension.
  • I learned outbound sales on Outreach, so it's hard for me to point out cons. However, after introducing some friends to it I got the feedback that it's a little complicated. I do agree they could do some work on simplifying the process for new customers that aren't already familiar with what they consider "sequences" and setting up all the settings.
  • Their customer support, while generally very good, has some occasions where it's just downright frustrating. I think they've fixed this in the last 6 months, but last year in particular there were a lot of situations where if you asked anything technical you were going to get a canned response or someone who didn't understand what you meant. I haven't had this situation in awhile though, so I think they've fixed it.
  • Sometimes it can be confusing with the schedule windows, the throttling, and actually verifying how something goes out. It also gets a little hairy when you ask for clarification because it's not the simplest process, so they could do better explaining that I guess.
  • The ROI on Outreach is through the roof. It's a sales tool. If spending ~$100/month/rep isn't resulting in AT LEAST $100 in sales, there is something seriously wrong with how you're using Outreach or what you're selling.
  • The main reason I always come back to Outreach is because of its efficiency. They have thought of everything. I just set my universal settings, drop someone in a sequence, and I KNOW the sequence will continue and do what I want it to do. Being able to dump in 1000 prospects and say "throttle 100 new prospects a day" + "Resume OOO replies after 5 days" = never having to check Outreach to monitor it. So much better than alternatives.
  • Their customer service is fast, and they work hard to get you the right answers. While sometimes they can just be confused or lost as to how to help, I do appreciate that I always get a fast response same day.
  • ZenProspect
I chose Outreach simply because it just works. ZenProspect was a hassle and didn't have throttling (and was full of bugs), and Beamery was just a bit too basic for what we were looking for. Outreach has all the automated features we were looking for to make outbound sales as easy as possible!
I think Outreach is the perfect outbound sales emailing/calling platform. I love it. However, I don't think it would necessarily be the right choice for companies that are simply looking for an outbound email marketing platform. There are cheaper and easier platforms out there (I think Mailchip for example), that does what a marketer is looking for i.e. sending newsletters and things of that nature. In my mind you could use Outreach like that, but it wouldn't be what it's for. If you're looking for sales (particularly account based) outbound - this is the tool.

Not only do they integrate with SFDC, but their task management is stunning. For example you can set it to create a call task after a prospect opens an email x amount of times - so after sending 100's and 100's of emails, you have your tasks piling up. They have a task flow where you basically go into the first task, and then it allows you to record the outcome (call connected, VM, whatever), take notes, then click next task. Amazing for reps just dialing down or even doing manual email reminders.
