Multiple applications, including Oracle, Cloverleaf, Java, MQ, web servers, etc.
- It is well documented and supported
- It is a leading OS, and therefore has a great user community
- Wide variety of apps and app vendors
- Maybe a native GUI - not on the console - for my Windows users (who think the whole world should be like Windows)
- There is really not much that Red Hat Enterprise Linux does badly
- Redhat supplies timely security patches
- When coupled with Ansible, many servers can be managed efficiently.
- Redhat's support means you have experts on hand quickly for critical problems
- Upgrades from Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7 can be difficult, but after that it's a piece of cake.
Red Hat Enterprise Linux is more straightforward, more consistent, easier to manage, easier to get help with, less expensive.
