Overall Satisfaction with Sage Intacct

We use Sage Intacct as our only accounting system. It integrates with our in-house point of sale system. We use Nexonia for AP and credit card entries and approvals.
  • It is a live system. Errors are immediately apparent.
  • The upload feature for invoices, payments, and GL/PR entries is very well thought out.
  • Setting up new users is easy.
  • Should be able to "lock" GL accounts that should not have GL entries made to them - i.e., accounts payable and accounts receivable - OR make it possible to link the GL entry to a customer or vendor, so the sub ledger is affected as well - similar to the cash accounts and the cash sub ledgers.
  • Should no be able to delete GL Journals, as this messes with the audit trail. I know - just uncheck the delete box, but still...
  • Non-business users should be able to open attachments in AP.
  • We started using Sage Intacct 1/1/2014, since then, our 2 sister companies have implemented the program, and we are working on global consolidation.
  • We are able to produce comprehensive financials for our 5 entities as a single unit, and for each of our 25 individual locations.
  • While expensive, Intacct is very adaptable, and constantly being improved to meet changing accounting standards, and to make things more comprehensive and easy for the user.
GL uploads, and integration with Nexonia, has shortened and improved our work load, as we expand in number of locations. Approvals are no longer walking pieces of paper around, but electronically done.
I was not here for the integration, but the merging of 2 different entities from QuickBooks, with the same numbering system for customers, was not differentiated intelligently for future changes.
I have used BAAN, Microsoft Dynamics - Axapta/DycoTrade, MFG-Pro, & Peachtree. All these programs were DOS-based and not on the cloud except later versions of Peachtree. Intacct being on the cloud makes working from places other than the office easier.
Businesses with inventory, and without inventory are well suited. Manufacturing may be less suited for Intacct.
