Overall Satisfaction with Salesforce.com

Salesforce.com Sales Cloud is used by our sales department. The whole company used Chatter and Ideas. We use is to automate sales business process. Our foundation team also uses, along with Salesforce sites feature.
  • I like the drag drop feature of page layout out. Many time users cannot visualize their requirements. Being able to create a quick mockup helps me to work with my non-technical users.
  • I like the ability to automate workflow with simple triggers. I love that feature where I cannot do with traditional WF rule in Salesforce.
  • I like the App exchange feature that Salesforce supports. I know it is highly difficult for an org to provide 100% satisfaction to 100% of customers. App exchange app fills those gaps.
  • I have biggest problem with Salesforce reports. Most of my users are not able to understand an build reports on their own.
  • Salesforce documentation is the not geared towards advanced users. I never find the information I am looking for.
  • There are some inconsistencies in how some APIs behave based which app we are in.
  • URS being a traditional insurance company, we automated lot of process and went paperless for most purposes in the last 3 yrs. Increased productivity.
  • Due to the automation process we have done less errors leading to better data quality and reliability.
  • More accurate tracking of the work process.
I have used Microsoft Dynamics, Amdocs Clarify CRM.

I look at Salesforce as scrabble board with letters ready to add words while other products like plain white board without letters.
Salesforce allows users to play with letters and tells where and how the pieces can be place to going fast.
To get started with Salesforce and efficiently configure and implement it, an organization needs a good Salesforce administrator. (Can the org afford this)? With the vast features included with Salesforce, many organizations are under utilizing this tool. License Model and Salesforce Governor limits are top things to consider.
