Overall Satisfaction with SAP HANA

SAP HANA is the in-memory database for our SAP ERP installation. We are using the Suite on HANA platform for ERP and BI systems. It drastically reduced our database operation times improving the performances of reporting, APIs, pricing engine, and SCM processed, resulting in better user experience and overall faster responses. It helps avoid bottlenecks in data processing operations.

We evaluated both SAP HANA on Suite and S/4 HANA and decided to proceed with on Suite. SAP HANA on-suite has minimal disruptions to the business and delivers the best performance. S/4 HANA is the future, but it introduces many new business processes that might be confusing for business users.
SAP HANA support for the implementation was excellent. They also helped our internal team to bring them up to speed to support this new product. They understand it's a significant change for the organization, and we're working to make the transition as smooth as possible. It's crucial to pick the right SI for the implementation. It might be worth to spend the money upfront rather than go through frustrating change management cycles.

SAP ERP installations where there is an increased demand on the system from massive database operations like pricing calculation, supply chain route/operations, Saas product integrations like Salesforce and Ariba, e-Commerce, and digital operations. The system performs optimally with the in-memory database, drastically reducing the database processing times. Also, this is the direction SAP HANA is heading, and the traditional database model will not be supported beyond 2027.
