Overall Satisfaction with Smartlook

We use Smartlook on our own website and across our client's websites to monitor their user's browsing trends and allow us to identify any bottlenecks and room for improvement in conversion rate. The software is used primarily in our marketing team, but the developers often join in with analysis meetings to discuss and implement solutions.
  • Heat mapping.
  • Screen recording.
  • Conversion recording (form fills).
  • One shortcoming (made worse by GDPR) is that of data sharing to other tracking software.
  • Improved customer experiences.
  • Longer dwell time.
  • Lower bounce rates.
  • Improved conversions.
We're pretty well versed with Smartlook and as such don't need to regularly call on their support. They are based in eastern Europe so being in the UK ourselves, we find the response times really good.
The app's usability has improved greatly since the early days and continues to do so. They do seem to understand that form is often as important as function and this makes the app a pleasure to use.
Smartlook is far more cost-effective and simple to use for agencies with multiple clients than Hotjar, which targets the user companies more directly.

It's well suited to large and medium/large businesses who have invested in some time and resources to analyse their website user behavior properly. Like many analytics tools, the information is quite in-depth and many smaller companies do not have the time to inspect it properly and/or to understand and implement the required changes to their website.
