Overall Satisfaction with SolarWinds Server & Application Monitor

We use the products across the whole network. It monitors several services, all of our nodes, and also all network devices. It allows us to be proactive to any number of issues, such as equipment failure, loss of connections to important servers, and alerts of high utilization of bandwidth, memory, etc.

Pros

  • Tells us when a piece of equipment loses connection
  • Lets us know when we have a high utilization of memory or bandwidth

Cons

  • More hands on training on all the functions it has to offer
  • Our downtime has been greatly reduced due to hardware failure preventive measures.
I personally like how well it all works. You can define each alert to specific servers or as a whole. Some of the alerts it can give can be somewhat difficult to understand, but with a little more hands-on training, it would be great.
