Overall Satisfaction with Oracle SQL Developer

There are business critical platforms running on Oracle databases. SQL developer edition mostly used by reporting and support functions with in the IT organization. This tool is preferred for non-complex database connection and reporting activities.

  • User interface and experience should be improved.
  • Detailed code analysis functions should be implemented.

  • Easy to use for basic tasks such as query builder, schema-object browser etc.
It depends on the role and requirements of the job. I recommend SQL developer mostly for business analyst and data reporter roles. It has basic query builder features and templates enough to complete day to day tasks.
