Overall Satisfaction with Squire
I work part time at a barbershop and we use Squire to keep our books in order including scheduling, payment management, and product inventory. It is used throughout the day and helps us have a smoother interaction with clients.
- Status - I like how helpful the Arrived, Ready, Paid in Shop, and No Show functions work
- Having a place for client notes is helpful for leaving cut details
- Product Inventory is easier to manage
- Rewards point management
- Rescheduling is so hard in Squire. Looking to see aviable times and days with no context makes it super hard. I will often use 2 computers to do it, one to look up a time and one with the Appointment details pop up.
- UI/UX The light grey/white of the appointment screen makes those of us with low vision to fight to read. The black font on blue buttons kills my eyes, I wish we could customize the client grouping colors for return, new for barber, new to shop. Right now it's purple, dark blue, light blue, very close and hard to remember which is which.
- The client notes input field is too small. You can add as much text as you want but you have to scroll to see details. It makes it hard to track everything.
- Lag time feels buggy. Swapping menus or clocking in and out will often time out.
- Changing client information is next to impossible. Want swap out an email or phone number so they can keep their reward points? Not possible.
- Duplicate records between app and web logins for clients will not play well together.
- Positive: Rewards program management makes gamification for clients a breeze
- Positive: Timecard management is clean and easier for everyone to use even those who aren't technical
- Negative: Wasted time fighting to read the screen due to UX color choices
