Overall Satisfaction with Teamcenter
We use Teamcenter to manage assets within our flexible production environment and support decisions for facility reconfiguration. Our use case is to design a factory that has the capability to reconfigure the production line between two different products within the same product family, and being able to reconfigure rapidly, and automate the reconfiguration and assembly processes.
- Organise product information
- Collaboration within the team
- Clear dependency between product, process, assets etc
- Interface is slow to interact with
- link to product as-built instance to design
- Connectivity with other product, process design platforms
- manufacturing process planner
- PMI data storage
- Data ownership
- Good perception within the industry
- Capability to manage assets, products and processes
- Enabled CAD to Process design and planning
We use Teamcenter to communicate on a much more technical level, as it has the capability to be linked to different types of computer aided design, computer aided manufacturing and simulation software packages. The other tools I have used are in general within the Microsoft packages, which has basic text editing, data management and collaboration functionality, however, lacks technical engineering focus.
