Overall Satisfaction with TIBCO BusinessWorks

TIBCO Business works is used by my customer "H3G UK". I am the architect from TechMahindra producing the integration solutions.
  • Very stable, scalable, powerful
  • Robust
  • Easy to use
  • Intuitive UX
  • Extensions like the way - Mulesoft provides
  • Cloud-based integration
  • Entire E2E architecture solutions
  • Giving access to the internals of the product like the way Mulesoft provides
  • Exceptional handling - like in Mule 4 beta version
  • On-premises integration - Positive Results
  • API Factory project - did not go well.
  • TIBCO needs to provide a feature like Mulesoft's Exchange. This is very important.
Yes. Visual creations of integration flows are intuitive, creative, easy and very fast with TIBCO BW. Again, documentation needs to be improved. Exchange feature like Mulesoft's should be implemented where a repository of examples, usage etc., will be available.
  • TIBCO BW - Data Mapping capabilities are excellent.
  • Mulesoft - Again you have to learn another language like "Data Weave".
  • TIBCO BW - is intuitive, easy with XPATH, XSLT etc.
  • But, TIBCO BW needs to think of handling "JSON".
  • TIBCO's strength is predominantly with XML, SOAP.
  • Now, there is a lot of focus on REST, JSON.
  • TIBCO has to concentrate on this and beyond.
Testing the integration flows with TIBCO BW is relatively easy and good. The problem is in learning and understanding how much code coverage we finished with TIBCO BW w.r.t., testing. We do not know how many scenarios of testing we finished. In Mulesoft like products, you have "MUnit" - and you will know the percentage of code coverage done with testing. This helps a lot with test driven development strategies.
A lot of on-premises application integration scenarios:
  • Multiple hardware, software, distributed systems.
  • Peoplesoft, Oracle DB, SAP ERP, Sterling OMS, Oracle ATG E-commerce framework like those technologies in the program.
  • Not many cloud integration and on-premises integration scenarios - Rejected - Mulesoft.
  • Not many SaaS applications integration scenarios -- Snap Logic is not selected. No complete Oracle products. So, no "OFM".
Very well suited for ERP, CRM on-premises integration. TIBCO is the champion product.
Less appropriate in APIs, microservices architecture and cloud offerings, integration.
