Overall Satisfaction with UltiPro

UltiPro uses a case system that is like putting in a ticket. It can be a little hard to get use to if you like to call someone directly. But once you get use to it it is apparent why they have it in place. It allows for your question to be routed to the most appropriate person, tracks all of the correspondence and is a great resource to look back at when a similar question comes up.
UltiPro is being used company-wide and almost all modules are being utilized. UltiPro allows for one seamless web-based application for payroll, HRIS, time and attendance, recruitment, career development, performance management and much more.

Pros

  • With the ever changing rules for the ACA, UltiPro is always on top of the details and innovative in the ways they can help their customers.
  • A reporting system called Business Intelligence allows for a multitude of reports to both run on their own based on a schedule or to run based on an event. This has allowed for payroll personnel to focus on other tasks.
  • Ideas are always welcomed at UltiPro and much of what is put into each release is based on customer feedback. They are also working to bring better things to the system.

Cons

  • Not all of UltiPro functionality works in Chrome, likely due to the fact that Chrome is always updating their browser. None the less, it is a common browser and can cause some frustrations.
  • There is an electronic W-4 that when it works is great. However, the form is an editable PDF and Chrome does not work well with Adobe. In addition, special settings are needed in Internet Explorer for it to work.
  • The time sheet opens in a separate window which works fine most of the time. But a user needs to know that their computer may not allow pop-ups and they need to allow them with this. UltiPro is currently working on creating a new timesheet from the ground-up so I am positive that this will be fixed when that is complete.
  • Online training

The online training is very through and can last up to 4 hours per session which may be hard to schedule. However, you won't regret signing up and taking the training as it is invaluable.
UltiPro allows for many shift differentials as well as weighted overtime. This can be very complex for some systems, but it works very well in UtlPro.
