Veeam Backup & Replication

Overall Satisfaction with Veeam Data Platform

We use Veeam as a backup solution for our environment and solves the problem of having to manually backup dozens our servers. Veeam has an intuitive interface and backup is simple and effective.
  • Endpoints and physical servers running Windows & Linux
  • Virtualized workloads
  • Immutable storage to protect against ransomware
  • “Instant” recovery or portability between platforms (physical > virtual > cloud-hosted)
  • Immutable storage to protect against ransomware
  • Veeam has an intuitive interface and makes backup extremely easy.
  • Ransomware protection is excellent.
  • Backups are fast and efficient.
  • Licensing could be done differently. We preferred the perpetual license as it allows for one time purchase instead of annual payments.

Did Veeam Data Platform live up to sales and marketing promises?

Did implementation of Veeam Data Platform go as expected?

Yes

Would you buy Veeam Data Platform again?

Yes

We have about 18 physical servers that we use Veeam to protect. Originally we had less than 10 servers but how well Veeam performed, we increased our licenses to include all our physical servers.
  • The ROI with Veeam has been very positive and with the primary goal of data protection, Veeam has accomplished this goal admirably.
Our previous backup solution was very complicated and did not have the ransomware protection we needed and Veeam offered this funtion. Ransomware protection was the main selling point along with the ease of use. There is no comparsion with our experience before and after Veeam as Veeam is hand down the best solution.
We do you use cloud to protect our workloads as we are strictly an on-premise. As for disaster recovery, we store our backups offsite.
We do not use the NAS/File-share backup solution for protecting unstructured data as that requires another license.
Veeam works on any platform and is well suited in all scenarios in our environment. We are a baremetal environment/infrastructure and Veeam works very well without issue.
