Veeam Backup & Replication

Overall Satisfaction with Veeam Data Platform

The primary use of Veeam is to back up our entire domain infrastructure. We encountered one minor issue with the Sure Backup feature. The implementation and configuration were not set properly. As for the recovery application, this product is amazing. The ability to back up VM and restore as a File Level Restore (FLR) was awesome. Made recovery and restore processes very quick and simple.
  • Virtualized workloads
  • Endpoints and physical servers running Windows & Linux
  • In addition to back up, we also snapshot some of these workloads
  • Cloud-hosted VMs within AWS or Azure
  • Automating test restores to validate recoverability
  • “Instant” recovery or portability between platforms (physical > virtual > cloud-hosted)
  • Accessing data for data mining or re-use of backup copies via API
  • Automating test restores to validate recoverability
  • You can drill down to find files or folders quickly for restoring.
  • The monitoring and reporting tools helps us identify any VM issues before reaching a major disaster.
  • Product Support was always available and extremely helpful to address and solve any issues we encountered.
  • The benefit of having Veeam Data Platform product is it works well and save us lots of storage space with the advanced algorithm and deduplication process and the compression ratio is economical.
  • The software product has a friendly GUI. With proper training and navigating through the product section a few times, you'll become a pro at no time.
  • Our Director loves hearing that we have a secure backup which reduces our risk from being compromised with the comprehensive product feature and data security that this product protect.

We have slightly over 500 Virtual Machines being protected by Veeam and still growing. Also, we have recently moved some priority critical data to the cloud infrastructure for a second source of recovery while building our replication site. This movement is to eliminate or minimize downtime with Instant Recovery from both sources and to stay safe from cyber threats. Protecting data is our number one priority and Veeam Data Platform helps us do just that.
  • Having Veeam Data Platform software is like having Life Insurance. It comes in handy when an unexpected event occurs and the policy is there to help your organization regain confidence and worry-free that data is recovered in a timely manner.
  • The investment literally paid for itself when encountered a cyber attack, ransomware, or equipment failure because all your VM and Data are protected by Veeam. Why pay millions of dollars to cyber criminals when you can purchase Veeam products for a few hundred thousand dollars? It is a great return on your investment and every organization should have this product.
  • We are one of the largest district organization in the U.S. and still growing. Disaster Recovery is one of our goal. We need reliable product like Veeam Data Platform to quickly meet our Recovery Point Object (RPO) and Recovery Time Objective (RTO).
We used to use a product called Avamar Data Protect for a number of years before switching to Veeam Data Platform, Veeam Backup and Replication due to the advanced feature that was not offered in the Avamar product. Such as with Veeam, we could set up automatic disaster recovery testing and verify our enterprise applications on the VM are functioning after the recovery so our users don't experience downtime which we couldn't do before. This helps us to be more prepared for any event which calls for "data recovery".
Our organization has not yet implemented Cloud recovery. We just started moving our critical data to the cloud hosted by Azure and using their API for file recovery at this time.
Our NAS/File-Share storage has not moved up to our priority list, therefore, we are using Veeam Data Platform to back up any data on the NAS at this time. The data on the NAS storage are not as critical and users are aware when they opt to store file / data on the NAS.
A few years back, we had a blackout from a lightning storm that stuck close to our data center, and one of our clusters got corrupted. With the aid of Veeam Support and dedicated teamwork, we were able to rebuild the cluster and restore the entire data from Veeam within 72 hours. Thanks to this product and the Veeam Support team, we really trust the product to do its work when it is truly needed.
