Veeam Backup & Replication

Overall Satisfaction with Veeam Data Platform

We use Veeam to backup our VMWare Virtual servers to an offsite data center company with DRAAS capabilities. This provides us with redundancy in case of a disastrous onsite outage.
  • Virtualized workloads
  • Endpoints and physical servers running Windows & Linux
  • Cloud-hosted VMs within AWS or Azure
  • In addition to back up, we also snapshot some of these workloads
  • Immutable storage to protect against ransomware
  • “Instant” recovery or portability between platforms (physical > virtual > cloud-hosted)
  • Failover or recovery scripts/plans for orchestrated recovery
  • Immutable storage to protect against ransomware
  • Reliability
  • Performance
  • Data Recovery Options
  • Security
  • Flexible Application Options
  • Better Performance of the Console
  • Better CPU Loads
  • Reduce Memory Usage

Yes
Designed with Intent from the ground up
Will Incorporate Azure Environment soon into a Hybrid Datacenter config.
  • Disaster Recovery Plan
  • DRAAS functionality
We were using Veeam Cloud with a 3rd party Datacenter to backup our VMWare Horizon Environment. When we got off the cloud due to Vendor problems, we switched to this product to keep the design flow going onsite.
Will be adopting a Hybrid Cloud / Onsite solution to maintain Data at both locations for onsite and offsite users.
We do not use it for file-share backups
Suited for
- Backing up VMWare Environments to a Cloud Provider
- Replicating to a Air-Gapped Provider
- Running the Product on a Physical Server to backup VM Environment
Not Appropriate
- Running the product inside a VM Server that runs a risk of failing and losing your restore ability until it is re-installed.
