Veeam Backup & Replication

Overall Satisfaction with Veeam Data Platform

We use it to backup our servers and user data. We have both onsite and cloud storage. It is a critical part of our disaster recovery plan. The ease of use and value for cost has been a driving factor in our long relationship with Veeam. We continue to be customers in the years to come.

Did implementation of Veeam Data Platform go as expected?

Yes

Would you buy Veeam Data Platform again?

Yes

No Cloud backup at this time. That was an additional license, which I see as a con. We protect all of our VMs and physical servers with Veeam Backup and Replication. It backs up far less physical servers than it did fifteen years ago, but we don't use tapes anymore either.
  • Positive, phsical backup
  • Positive, VM backup
  • Negative, cloud backup is an added cost.
We have had it here longer than I have been here, but I would have switched if we didn't have Veeam.
We store backups on Wasabi, protected from ransomware.
We don't use this.
It is well suited as a server backup. We have used it for both physical servers as well as virtual servers. It saved us a ton of money over VSAN in our new environment. My only concern is that the Backup solutions like Synology will hurt Veeam as they are more of a one time cost for the life of the device.
