Overall Satisfaction with WatchGuard Network Security
We use WatchGuard Network Security for a business firewall with VPNs to connect directly and securely into our servers. We have also found for our business that using WatchGuard Network Security firewalls allow for a deeper look into the rules and policies. This allows us to make our network more secure for employees.The main business problem that this solves is the ability to set up effective and secure VPN connections.
- Support is extremely quick to respond
- The System Manager application is very easy to use.
- When something goes wrong, it gives good error codes to be able to troubleshoot with
- Integration of the system manager with policy manager.
- Better/more clear explanation of saving a file (policy change) to the box. Sometimes it is hard to know which files are from what changes.
- More notice of when updates are required. A few times our VPN has gone down only to find out we were missing a firmware update that we were unaware of.
- $800 a year for a fully fledged firewall compared to ~$1000 a month for a Azure Firewall for example.
I do not recall working with anyone specific for our implementation. We got the firewall delivered, and from there we set up our policies with the help of our IT team and network administrator.
I have noticed a lot of value in being able to manage all of our policies from one spot. As I mentioned before, we gain most of our value from the VPN abilities of the firewall. From a VPN perspective, it was very easy to set up and control once it was up and running. This was the best value I have found from WatchGuard Network Security.
We by no means use all of the potential capabilities of WatchGuard Cloud. As I said, the main things we are able to use in conjunction are the standard policy manager along with the VPN capabilities all from one location.
WatchGuard Network Security has shown me much more value than Azure Firewall to the extent that I have used it. The most prominent thing I have noticed is from the pricing perspective. WatchGuard Network Security costs for a year what Azure Firewall costs for a month. For smaller businesses, this is a huge bonus being able to have this control for this price.
