Overall Satisfaction with Workfront

  • Centralize projects in one solution
We can, in one report, get a good sense our project statuses and identify any obstacles. This has helped us deliver products and uncover those "black holes" that can kill a good project. Our teams are using this system to manage work, deliver report cards to our factories, and provide concrete data for seasonal reviews.

Pros

Cons

  • System settings are pretty much "take it or leave it". I'd love some more dynamic customization.
  • Notifications are static and not customizable.
  • Fields within projects/tasks are also static and cannot be "turned off".
  • Better communication of project delivery

  • Justified department requests for resources
These systems help us prevent silo-ing of information so many companies experience. Nothing is done in a vacuum. Because our teams are in Workfront and able to get the whole scope, collaboration and dialog can be tracked and even increased.
Data is key. Anything needed by my team members or bosses can be handed over in a matter of minutes. I've crafted reports that are accessed on a weekly basis, some even delivered to the inbox of the requester every week automatically. If you are thinking about this system, please make sure to also have your reporting designee take the training classes.
Leap (the Workfront yearly conference) was an eye-opener when it came to how this system can be utilized. But, it is the customer service and sales interactions that give the most benefit. I am so thankful to have a great team to support our system visions and any little hiccups we encounter.
This is great for mid-sized to larger companies, especially when projects cross multiple departments and have several stakeholders. When it is difficult to get everyone in a room for a daily check-in, Workfront can help project managers get the project pulse, project marketers to get prompts on when to act, and help department managers make sure their teams are perfectly utilized.
