15Five is a great platform, but it's very simplified and in the 4+ years that I've used it as an employee, I don't feel it has been changed or improved at all. While I'm sure there have been some minor updates, it has stayed virtually the same, which again leads me back to the feeling of "Groundhog day". Data collection plants the seeds for the future of any business, and the need is obviously there, but the monotony of it from an employee's perspective can also contribute to a decline in job joy. Overloading employees with reporting tasks across dozens of software platforms can lead to a major lack of productivity. As for where this platform is suited - in any organization that has a large number of entry-level employees who are all learning at different paces, with a great deal of upward mobility potential, this could be a very useful way to collect feedback and focus career development. In an organization full of senior-level employees with limited upward mobility who are results (or income) focused, this will be seen as an absolute waste of time and disrespectful to senior employees.

Culture Amp

Great partner for administering our annual engagement survey. You can set up automated reminders for users who have not filled out the survey over a period of time. They also offer a lot of benchmark data and resources to really understand what your organization's results mean and how to go about picking the most critical pieces of information that need attention and can have the greatest impact on the organization. If you choose not to use their survey templates or add your own questions to a survey, you may not be able to get any external benchmark data, as it all depends on how relevant your own questions are to the questions used by others in their shared templates.

  • The technology - 15Five manages all the organization of questions/submissions, and reminders.
  • Simplicity - 15Five isn't difficult to set up. And all of our users found it very easy to interface with.
  • Great features - You can add as many answers as you want. You can tag people. You can do a lot with it.

  • The platform for Culture Amp is very user-friendly. It is easy to navigate when answering the survey questions.
  • Culture Amp gives the ability to compare your business to other benchmarks from outside sources.
  • Culture Amp can cut data in many different ways based on criteria like department, gender, tenure etc.
  • Culture Amp guarantees anonymity of its users because it will not cut data a certain way if there are less than 5 people in that category. Ex if there are less than 5 females, you cannot cut the data by gender.

  • Although I mentioned customization as a positive aspect, it could use some improvements. The backend process of updating the questions, and setting them to a certain schedule, can be a bit confusing. This process could be streamlined.
  • The commenting process can be a bit confusing. If a person is tagged/mentioned in a comment, they are typically sent an email notifying them. However, it can be difficult to locate where you can reply and continue the conversation. Although a simple issue, it seems it could be easily rectified.
  • I would like to see more integration of the team portion of 15Five. It seems this feature is not as prominent, so you can easily get stuck in just your specific 15Five information.

  • They already have a good assortment of templates to utilize but I would like to see more added on a regular basis.
  • The system is easy to use, and this does not relate to its functionality, but maybe more interesting design to the pages and experience as a whole.
  • It would be interesting to have the ability to share the survey results with the team and be able to add feedback comments as well.

It's very simple to use - not overly complicated. You wouldn't need training to use. There are some features I never use because I don't understand -- like one on ones. However we use without and still find a lot of value in it!

The 15Five support team is amazing. They were always willing to speak with me when I did something wrong in the system and never had a harsh or placing judgment tone in their voices. They respond quickly and promptly and allowed me to learn something new each time I cross lines with them. I am thankful for their knowledge and customer service they shared with me when I needed it.

I've used Asana and Jira. Jira has too much functionality for a team like ours and Asana didn't have enough gamification for our team. At the end we chose 15Five because it was simple to use and easy to follow, it also allowed the manager to review each individual on the team quickly and effectively.

  • For me, the ROI is immeasurable. I don't know how I could manage my team without it.
  • For the second year running, my team has been rated as "most engaged" by our annual HR survey. For a company with well over 1,000 people globally, I'm proud of this! Without 15Five, I dont know if it would be the same.
