Stride works well for those looking for just a communication tool. However, there are a lot of similar programs out there that offer more interesting features without being overwhelming. The simplicity works for and against Stride. Smaller groups would find Stride useful, especially if they are not concerned with the public rooms

I've been using Lucidspark for about 7 years as a Business Analyst working on IT projects. The tools are intuitive and easy to learn. It's a fast way to develop wireframes, verify requirements and create a compelling visual environment. I love its full set of shapes, flow diagram objects, and endless whiteboard & its ease of use; it has saved many hundreds of hours and enhanced collaboration with my teams and end-user clients.

- Intuitive and simple design is one of its strong points, so zero learning curve!
- Clearing away the whole board or parts of the board is a breeze to avoid confusion.
- The different pens with colors and nib thickness allow easy explanations.

Stride, from Atlassian (discontinued)
- Dark theme would be nice
- Better integrations to 1 on 1 chats, some software only works in group/room chat
- Platform is going away in a few months, so letting it run longer would be nice.

- CSV export of Lucidspark board cannot be imported into another board.
- I cannot import contents from Miro (or other tools) to import my whiteboards from other tools into Lucidspark.
- JIRA integration was clunky and I accidentally created 16 cards in JIRA without realizing it. All selected items in a flow chart became separate JIRA stories, which was surprising.

It is so easy to get started when you first open the application. There is a tutorial option and I might have looked at it a couple of times when I was first using LucidSpark (early adopter). Now everything seems to be intuitive. I've recently started using breakout boards to keep client sessions together.

Lucidspark has been one of the best collaboration tools that I have come across in recent times. it has been very useful, it had made collaboration easier and more effective. The team is being able to better brainstorm and organize workflows. Whiteboard has been an extremely helpful and go-to tool for any of our drawing-out problems.

Alternatives Considered

Stride falls short in almost every regard. While Stride is affordable, Slack and Ryver offer vital integrations that increase efficiency and are more enjoyable for employees to use. The features of Slack and Ryver that add personalization of chat (private vs. public) also add a layer of efficiency and flexibility that are hard to pass up for the simplicity and affordability of Stride.

Lucidspark is actually designed for collaborative work, whereas Microsoft Visio and Snagit are designed for other things and thus do not work as well for collaboration. Lucidspark is a great tool for interactive teams looking to take meetings and discussions to the next level.

- Stride helps with keeping your email inbox cleaner and more organized. More conversational messages can be done through Stride leaving our emails less cluttered and finding emails easier.
- Stride assists with keeping a record of all your past conversations with all team members. Referring to previous communications help us keep track of current statuses of projects.
- Stride helps us keep track of documents we've shared in the past with the team and retrieve them if we need to refer back to them later.

- I've made a Planning Poker template in Lucid that we use for Sprint Planning, and it's made it easier to switch to Story Points and forego task breakdown and time estimation altogether. It does save time during Sprint Planning but that's less significant than the fact that developers no longer feel the need or pressure to conform to whatever random time estimate was provided. That's thanks to Story Points, not Lucid itself, but Lucid surely made Planning Poker a lot easier than it used to be. As an added bonus, it stores voting history, so we can go back during the Retrospective and review particular items of interest that we completely botched the sizing of.
