IBM NS1 Connect and Amazon Route 53 are both DNS (Domain Name System) services, but differ in their focus and strengths. IBM NS1 Connect is a cloud DNS service designed for complex traffic routing, application performance, and reliability, while Route 53 is a more …
CloudfloorDNS is a great product, particularly if you want a reliable DNS service without breaking the bank. They support all the standard record types (A, CNAME, NS, MX, etc.) Very easy to use. They also have a way to roll back changes in case something unexpected happens. I would say if you have a small IT department and need DNS to just be a utility that you never have to think about, this is a good product for you.
IBM NS1 Connect is suitable for businesses requiring high application availability, improved performance, and advanced traffic steering capabilities, especially in complex multi-cloud environments as it ensures maximum uptime. It's less appropriate for smaller teams without DNS expertise or those with basic DNS needs where a simpler, less feature-rich solution might suffice.
Support is great; the response time is impressive and they are always able to answer questions and resolve issues promptly
They proactively monitor for threat actors and possible DDoS attacks; they automatically respond on our behalf, as well as contact us to let us know something unusual happened
I think they meet all of our needs, so not much to say here; we switched from a very well known provider to save money and have been very happy with the service
The interface can be better. As of now, it is a bit difficult to manage multiple records at the same time or to test the rules effectively. The data reporting is also not as great as we expect with tools of today’s maturity.
They have all the same features and customer service without the price tag. We used Dyn as our DNS provider for over a decade. We continued after the acquisition by Oracle, but decided to save a few bucks.
It's definitely because of automation capabilities and flexibility that it offers. It also offers much more control over how traffic is routed when compared with Google Cloud DNS. The advance features are once again missing in Google Cloud DNS when compared with IBM NS1 Connect. The operational efficiency is also great when compared with its competitors.
It takes one more thing of our list of things to manage; once it's working, we can focus on more important things
I have received calls letting me know that we might be experiencing a DDoS attack; they had already remediated the threat by throttling the traffic from that source back so it did not overwhelm resources. Had that not been sufficient, they were already ready to spin up additional virtual servers to offload some overhead and make sure that we were not impacted by the situation. They continued monitoring until things were back to normal and followed up with a call to discuss. Very good service.
