If you have your own in-house servers or have a cloud server with the freedom to configure any PaaS that you want, then Dokku is for you. So far, I have never run into a scenario where Dokku was not able to fit my needs, after deploying many different types of applications with varying frameworks, languages, and connected services. If you already have a PaaS available, however, Dokku may not be for you.

Well suited / Poorly suited - really two sides of the same coin
- Company has management that will be willing to work in the system. Sometimes people are reluctant to learn something new.
- In house IT with developer skills. This is critical unless you either want to change your business to match Salesforce, or pay consultants a lot of money.
- Existing systems can be integrated, but you need that knowledge and access as well. Running Salesforce with connecting it will create a need for double data entry, If you have a locked down legacy system, you will have difficulty sharing data.

- Reporting and Dashboards are thorough and can show a wealth of important data to inform and scale processes. It's helpful in a high volume sales cycle to be able to quickly identify weak points in performance and productivity so that adjustments can be made.
- Highly customizable. We are able to customize just about everything which allows us to track very specific things and in theory create better efficiency.
- Parent/Child account hierarchy exists which is helpful.
- Contact records can be associated with multiple accounts and opportunities. This, in theory, should minimize duplicates and mismanagement of contacts.
- Console helps a lot with data nesting. Having a fairly comprehensive look at an account without searching through various tabs and sections speeds up an otherwise cumbersome platform.

- Dokku might overreach on its assumptions about how you want to host your app, using its own VHOSTS plugin by default. This may be a pro or a con depending on what you want.
- Proxy port configuration can be somewhat difficult, with Dokku resetting any pre-deployment configuration to "smart" defaults on the first deployment.

- It can be a bit buggy at times, like randomly not letting you save or making you refresh the page or do the same action, and then it will save.
- Bugs really are the main issue here. Otherwise it's great with reporting!

This builds off a number of things I have already mentioned. This question completely depends on the competence of the developer. This makes the user friendliness of the UI 50/50. However if you have the ability I would say it is quite UI friendly.

Dokku is incredibly well documented and also takes advantage of the documentation and community of Heroku, being essentially the same thing, but in the case that you encounter an actual bug or issue, it can take time for a fix to make it into a new version. Since you manage Dokku yourself, there is no support team to call for help.

Salesforce's support is top-notch. They have subject-matter experts that are accessible at all times to address needs as they come up. They let you know in advance when there are system updates and enhancements so that you are prepared for upcoming changes. I've never had an issue that wasn't addressed immediately when reaching out for support.

Dokku
Dokku is essentially the same thing as Heroku, except maintained by you on the platform of your choice. If you have any experience using Heroku, then you will feel right at home using Dokku. Dokku is an entirely free to use PaaS, requiring only that you have a platform to deploy it on, making it far more versatile than Heroku in my opinion.

Salesforce is the premeire product. Period. The others are cheaper and less capable, they may fulfill your organisation's needs but you will always be looking at Salesforce with wishful eyes. If you are a company that needs to bootstrap then spend the time to evaluate your options. If you are a growing company with plenty of funding it is best to provide your sales team with the best platform you can afford because switching out CRM's is second in complexity to swapping out an ERP.

- This has been a huge time waster for our team.
- Load times are at least 3 times as long as they used to be.
- Our workflows can not be as efficient as they used to be so we spend more time doing manual tasks.
