Horizons
Horizons is great when you need to utilize voice on the VM. Horizons is also great when you need to utilize peripherals like a physical machine. Overall, Horizons is a pretty good solution when it functions properly. The constant disconnections from the agent get extremely annoying. It seems like the best way to resolve the issue is to restart the VM in vCenter. This wouldn't be an issue for a small team, but if you're running 100+ VMs and this is happening every day to so many machines, it gets irritating that you can't be more productive elsewhere because you have to resolve the agent issue by restarting the VM before you can work on more important tasks or projects.

The onboarding was not very straightforward and we had to go back and forth many times even though it was just one standard work contract. The payroll management overall was OK despite a few billing issues. Closing the contract did not go well, with conflicting emails from different departments who could not answer basic questions such as providing a statement of account and detail the closing dues minus the deposit (they forgot to tell us about some dues for the 13th month which is a basic requirement in Germany).

  • Disconnection from Horizons Agent randomly which forces the VM to need to be restarted before Horizons can administer it again and end users can login.
  • Speed when being utilized by end users compared to Microsoft RDP. Horizons is noticeably slower compared to Microsoft RDP.
  • Failover functionality when VMs disconnect from agent.

I've had several queries when using Safeguard, every time response times were slow and at times they have been incorrect. The comms are disjointed, it feels level 1 support are not equipped to deal with basic questions and there's not really an escalation path fit for purpose. The answers come out either tone-deaf or administrative.

  • Saved quite a bit of money instead of spending it on physical machines.
  • Kept productivity going for most associates during Covid.
  • Agent issues with the VMs disconnecting have caused an issue with productivity from the IT side.
