Likelihood to Recommend HashiCorp Vault, in my opinion, is a defacto standard for any cloud or automation implementation. They're the best of the best as far as products for secrets management and the ability to use it against relatively any service you have is unheard of for other products. HashiCorp has really taken out all the stops when it comes to creating a nice, extensible tool that people can use to suit their needs.
Read full review [KeePass] works extremely well for personal work passwords and personal-use passwords for home. It allows users to remember 1 single complex password in order to gain access to the entire database of passwords. It doesn't work so well if you want to sync passwords to multiple devices such as your computer or phone. It can be done, but it's not simple.
Read full review Pros The HTTP API you use to write and read secrets is open and can be used by any application. It keeps our sensitive data/credentials out of our GitLab repositories. Sealing and unsealing the Vault on demand adds an additional layer of security. Read full review Very secure - no worries about our passwords being stored insecurely or in the wrong place. Easy to share access to passwords used company-wide. Integrates with Chrome and other browsers for ease of use and speed. Price - free to use. Jacob Wall Senior Technical Writer / Client Services
Read full review Cons Documentation could be better. The multiple key unseal process can be a problem if the need arises. It would make more sense if HashiCorp Vault combined with HashiCorp Consul to create a unique product. Read full review I don't believe that this is so much a negative, but be sure that you keep your password database saved in a location that is accessible (even during an outage). Failure to do so will make it hard/impossible to recover passwords in the event that your database is unreachable (such as if a network drive failure). Read full review Likelihood to Renew HashiCorp Vault is the best there is out there, and it has become critical to our secret management use cases. It would be difficult to find anything that would suit our needs better and that would be beneficial for us to switch over to.
Read full review My very good experience in the past 15 years of usage of KeePass makes it easy to decide for a renewal of this friendship. I was never disappointed and KeePass always meets my expectations. The software runs stable and if there should be a software error, it will be fixed in no time. This is customer satisfaction.
Read full review Usability We spent a little more time than we imagined to conceptually understand how HashiCorp Vault operates, as well as how it is configured. This is not trivial, and keep in mind that you will need to take some time to get a thorough understanding of the tool. The documentation could be more helpful in this regard.
Read full review Search feature so you don't have to spend time looking for what you need. The ability to right click and save username and password, URL open options so your not locked to a particular browser were all key features we considered in the usability and adoption rate of this application. Highly recommend to any organization for credential management.
Read full review Support Rating Hashicorp has been very responsive to our questions and inquiries up to this point. We are currently working on them to develop a more granular permissions model within Vault. We are very close to achieving our objectives with the help of their support team. We do not seem to be in the same time zone which makes it hard for escalated issues.
Read full review I have almost never had to contact support. This product has a wide community, a very expansive documentation/forum site where generally any question/issue already has an answer/fix or explanation/workaround, or plans for improvement in a future version. On the occasions that I have reached out, answers were fairly quick, useful, and respectful.
Read full review Alternatives Considered HashiCorp Vault is way better than
Azure Key Vault ; it has more features and it goes beyond a key-value secret store.
Read full review KeePass is free and compatible with all the devices you or your customers and it has a lot of different uses. Is not only a password manager like
Norton safe password or the avast's one. Like the password managers of the browsers, no, with KeePass every customer can find a useful way to share and keep secure I formations
