I think that RingCentral's RingEX compares well with other solutions, though, they do seem less reliable than Zoom and Five9.

It's very suitable if you want a competent "business phone" solution. It is extremely reliable; the pricing is competitive, and it offers some advanced features and functions. It offers the ability to set up numbers very quickly and to procure them from across the globe. It offers good flexibility in controlling how and where those numbers route, with the ability to add inline messages, voicemail inbox, etc. It is not, to me, a like-for-like replacement for a call center product (and indeed RingCentral offers a true call center solution). If you are looking for advanced routing rules (such as adding skill priorities) or robust real-time monitoring (e.g., dashboards), this is not the right product.

easy to set up, fewer failure points, and it is all in the same location as the rest of the tenant configurations. Lots of PSTN providers are available and options to choose from. easier to create routing, but at the same time, simplified all the rules needed in CUCM. Great way to see all users, devices, and licenses. Call analytics needs improvement, but otherwise it's a great product.

    • Webex Calling supports limited codecs that are generally accepted all over the world but it would be good to see if they add transcoding support.
    • The local gateway option is designed more for on premise PBX communication. It would be good to see if it is developed more as a local PSTN breakout where local SIP trunk or local PRI is terminated.

The service can be intermittent and the call forwarding feature will not always work perfectly. There will be periods of time where the calling feature will not work at all and people on the other end can hear me but I am unable to hear them. It also requires a fairly strong signal which can be an issue if you work somewhere remote or a building without much service.

Zoom Phone has a very sleek design which makes it very easy to operate and use both in the setting up of and interacting in a meeting space. That being said, certain features can seem a bit crowded while trying to screen share or display video which somewhat defeats the purpose of the application as compared to a standard conference call.

I don't really see this impacting any other system performance at all. The client is very light use on resources, even on my iPhone. I don't know what else it connects to behind the scenes other then the campus directory, but I haven't seen or heard of any impacts. It seems fairly self contained except for wherever it interfaces with the general telephone system connectivity outside the campus.

Call-in support is fantastic. I have never called in and had it taken more than 30 minutes to resolve our issue. Email support is terrible. You will likely go 24+ hours until you hear back and the response is likely a canned one. I personally prefer the email or chat support option, but find myself calling instead because the email support experience is so poor.

I have been working for a long time with Cisco as a provider and also Cisco TAC and Cisco Support Engineers. The support starts right beforehand in the documentation of the product you are interested in. From the start you have a good, complete, and detailed and easy to read datasheet and there's always someone available to answer any questions.

I haven't had any sort of issues with Zoom as of yet to have to call Support. That right there makes me think it's a good product. Simple and easy to use. Nothing confusing or glitchy that would make me have to get in touch with them. Straightforward so I'm not trying to figure out a specific workflow.

If someone has an existing system I tell them to keep that running initially and keep RingEX separate initially until the system is configured and tested to one's satisfaction. After testing and configuration is completed, then roll over the main phone numbers to the new RingEX system. I've seen one person who immediately flipped over to RingEX without properly configuring/testing the software and had many issues with missed customer calls until I helped him sort out his configuration.

We are using these products like (Skype, Voip, TextNow, and Second line), but comparatively these products the RingEX has a good performance, because while we were using the other platform, we didn't get proper communication, we couldn't reach out the candidate, we lags to much into spam number, we couldn't communicate properly and the textnow we couldn't sigin sometime. When we start to use RingEX, we get much better productivity and proper communication with our clients.

The company uses Microsoft Teams. They do use Microsoft Teams right now and for a long time a lot of the different practices have been using on-premise, contact Call Manager and Unified Communications Express. But Cisco WebEx, the cloud-based product is one of the new ones. And some of our other site practices are also using RingCentral. So cloud calling is not new to the company. For those of us who are familiar with Cisco products, the transition to WebEx calling is not as difficult as it might be for some other products. Going from on-prem to RingCentral, there is more of a learning curve with.

The main reason why we switched to Zoom Phone is because our VOIP system inexplicably went down for almost a month and no one could figure out what was wrong. Lumen was charging way more than Zoom Workplace, but could not get the system to work.

We have 75 users and 85 phones on the system and have yet to have any noticeable outages. The system just works all of the time without issues. Our old VOIP system on Voyant would go out all the time for multiple hours. RingEX is much more stable and reliable.

So far it has been very reliable, with very little down time that was associated with the product itself. We have had network outages due to external factors such as construction cutting a fiber link, but other than that kind of thing not much for failures.

    • Enhanced patient accountability, we can track all calls - incoming and outgoing - patients tend to state that they called and left a message, but they either never called or did not leave a message. With RingEX, we can track whether they really did. It saves us quite a bit of time and aggravation.
    • Faxing is more accurate and usually very quick. Because it's accurate, it saves us time with phone calls about faxes we never received and having to refax items. Also, faxing via the system instead of printing and scanning is a time-saver.

    • Certainly when it comes to my client base, they certainly understand the benefits of the full end-to-end, Cisco stack. And when I talk about a calling platform in regards to it simply being a call from one end to another or a message from one end to another, Cisco provides so much more because it enables all that AI and I guess analytical data of which the endpoints cover. So when it comes to integrating with a meeting room experience and you're in a meeting room that can cater for up to 20 people, but say for example, only two or three people on average utilize that room, that type of safe spacing information gets transmitted into other business decisions that can benefit the business from an ROI perspective such as rearranging the interior design to create better outcomes for worker experiences. So much more than just a calling platform.

    • We're better able to work together as a team answering phones multiple people can be logged in to answer at the same time.
    • The voicemail transcription feature helps with sharing messages to different departments.
    • Overall, we're able to answer more calls and have fewer callers being sent to voicemail.
