I've been a GoDaddy user for over 10 years. I use them for my own website and I also have built websites for other businesses using their products, such as domains and website builder.
  • Registering a domain - I've found their site to be the easiest to navigate
  • Website builder - their website builder is user friendly
  • Email hosting - easy to set up and use, wether in an email app or online email.
  • Wordpress hosting - I have multiple wordpress sites I use under one account
  • Their customer service is always very helpful and easy to contact.
  • They did change their website builder - I liked the old version better, it was easier to use. The new one has a steeper learning curve. And when building sites for other people, it takes longer since they changed things.
  • I wish they gave more space with the emails you get with your domains. I'm constantly having to delete emails because my inbox is full.
I have purchased domains through a few different sites over the years and the ones I purchased from other companies, I always had issues with. The ones I have purchased through GoDaddy were no problem at all. They have easy help pages that helps you set up step-by-step no matter where you will use your domain. I now only purchase them from GoDaddy. They also have coupon codes where you can sometimes get them for 99 cents, especially if you are a new user.
  • I rely on GoDaddy for my emails and I almost never have issues with outages or connection errors. I could probably count on one hand the number of times I've had an issue in the last 10 years.
  • I use GoDaddy to build sites for other people's businesses because not only is the website easy to set up, but it's easy for my clients to be able to maintain their website. If someone is paying you to build a website, they are probably not real savvy with this sort of thing, so making it easy on their end is a must.
  • I love that I can have one main hosting account for my wordpress blogs and have other sub-accounts under them, instead of paying separately for every single site & blog.
For my own business website I did switch to BigCommerce because they offered features that weren't available at the time with Go Daddy, such as sales tax rates for every city/state, and products were limited to I think 10 or 20 options at the time and I needed 100+ options for some of my products. But for my clients' needs, I still use GoDaddy because they offer all the features they need and are easy for them to maintain on their own after I build their sites.

I have literally tried almost every website builder on the market. Wix, Weebly, Shopify, Volusion, you name it. GoDaddy is an excellent choice. They are much easier to navigate and set up than their competitors and offer more bells & whistles than some of their competitors.
No I have never needed to purchase premium support.

Yes, there have been a few times when I was setting up a website and had a question and called them. They have always been easy to contact and helped me with my issue right then and there. I can't think of a time when I had to have follow-up conversations to get an issue resolved.
They are just one of the best. I love that they are available 24/7/365. There have been times I needed support in the middle of the night and they are just always available.

GoDaddy offers a full range of digital business services from domain purchase and management through their small business suite - website hosting, website building (WYSIWYG/drag and drop website builder), email marketing/newsletters, google listing management and more. We use GoDaddy to purchase our domains, manage them, and to purchase and manage our email services for our employees.
  • Technical support
  • Small Business solutions
  • Pricing for domains
  • Data Tracking - Facebook/Instagram compatible websites (for running conversion campaigns).
GoDaddy is a good solution for:
  • first-time, non-techy, local service business owner (not eCom) to manage their business all in one place (looking to build their website, send emails, manage their listings and web presence all in one place
    • The user dashboard for their small business suite is pretty user-friendly. Someone could probably build their site in about three hours.
    • A decent place to keep all business solutions in one easy place and have someone to help them troubleshoot with support.
  • More technically savvy business owners - any field
    • Buy and manage their domains all in one place
    • Get technical support for issues (ex: troubleshooting with CNAME and ANAME records) when redirecting traffic to new pages
    • Buy domains in bulk
I would not recommend GoDaddy's website builder:
  • For eCommerce - the tracking and capabilities are better on Shopify. There are drag and drop themes just the same as with GoDaddy.
  • For people who love to tweak - There are limitations on the WYSIWYG editor.
  • For people who are running a lot of Facebook ad campaigns / socially driven campaigns - It's harder to track conversions and give Facebook the information it needs to prove purchases (any field). We've driven traffic and proved $45k in sales from some of the campaigns that we've done. We had to do it in a roundabout way.
  • Positive: Place to buy domains and lay a basis for a digital presence (hosting).
  • Positive: Their tech support saves us time and hassle. Time can equal money in business.
With GoDaddy: I can always expect that their support will be helpful and positive.
  • That I can reach operators by phone or chat
  • That I can find my domains and host in one place.
  • That I can also purchase and access email for myself and my team.
  • That records will be accurate and orderly.
With Bluehost, we have had negative experiences. There was an issue with hosting with one of our clients, and on one phone call, their support team admitted fault. On a follow-up call, when we asked for a refund or some make-good, they denied us a make-good, blamed my team, and refuted their previous claims. As much as possible, I will seek to do business with others as a result.

With 1&1, we also had a negative experience. We purchased a domain, were charged for it, received a receipt, and then later were informed that the domain was not granted to us. We were perplexed - Good thing we didn't build a site for that domain yet! We went to GoDaddy and purchased the domain.
I think a lot of companies can learn from GoDaddy's support team. I have found:
  • Chat or phone support is almost always available.
  • Their agents are friendly and helpful.
  • Their agents seem to care and be knowledgeable about a wide range of issues.
  • I rarely have to escalate my problem to get the support that I need.
  • If they can't help me, then they can tell me why something is happening and direct me to resources that can fix my problem.
Almost every time, they provide me with superior support with their speed at answering my questions and their ability to assess the problem. Once I called with domain questions and was provided answers to several other problems (domain / AName / CName records) that I wasn't aware were happening. They took the time to look into a couple of side-issues and to respond on the spot to something that I didn't even bring up. And they were friendly to boot.

I am currently using GoDaddy for a non-profit's website. I was able to completely re-do the non-profit's website using GoDaddy, taking the site from something boring and outdated to an amazing easy to use site. The new site has received lots of positive feedback from the foundation's donors. The site keeps the public and donors informed about what the foundation is doing in the community. Users can also make donations to the foundation through the site, and buy tickets to the foundation's events. The site was very easy to create, and making edits is a breeze.
  • Their customer service is outstanding.
  • The website builder is very simple to use.
  • The stock images included with the website builder are professional and beautiful.
  • Social media integration is easy.
  • The pricing is higher than many other web design platforms.
  • The emails are very expensive, in my opinion.
  • I would like the ability to customize colors and fonts on the website.
I would say that GoDaddy is suitable for anyone creating a website. If you are looking to do a blog, without a website, you may opt for a free or less expensive blog host.
  • The new GoDaddy site has lead to increased donations now that they can be made online
  • Increased tickets sales with ease of use
  • Optimized site for mobile
GoDaddy is significantly easier to use than Wix and their websites look much more professional.
I love that I can get a real person on the phone or use the chat box. There is never a long wait time and the reps always know the answers!
I was having trouble forwarding visitors from our old site to the new one and the rep walked me through it and solved my problem immediately.

GoDaddy is being used for domain hosting and email hosting.
  • Branding
  • Support
  • Marketing
  • Bring back the catch-all domain feature
  • Simplifying site organization
  • Making site more user-friendly
GoDaddy is okay for domains and for email hosting. It could be more competitive for web hosting.
  • My use has been okay.
  • It takes a while for system to update and that has cost me time.
  • I have run out of subdomain usage.
Zoho is more competitive with email. There are other platforms I use for web hosting.

They help me connect the dots when using a third party email service.
  • Email
  • Integration
Yes, but I don't use it
Some integration could be much cleaner and smoother. Seems it used to be easier. Plus, they took away the catch all email feature.
