We decided on PersistIQ because it was cheaper than the incumbents and as we were starting we wanted to see if this would be helpful or relevant to us. We later discovered Apollo.io and we might switch to them as they are also cheap and look better, but we might also get back to manual emailing and Linkedin connecting.

I've used both PersistIQ and Outreach in the past 2 years, so I feel my comparisons should still be fairly accurate. Persist is better for smaller, earlier stage companies looking for a cheaper and easy sales automation tool. Outreach is definitely the more powerful and customizable tool, but can be overkill.

Outreach has more features for email sending alone, along with other features that help with sales. It helps make it a more all-in-one platform rather than just an email tool. I feel that Persist IQ doesn't go far beyond a mass email tool.

Compared to MailChimp, Persist IQ allows for more personalization, simpler emails, and more complete campaigns. MailChimp is basically a tool for bulk email with heavy design.

Versus Marketo, PersistIQ is much more user friendly. You don't need to be an engineer or SQL master to use Persist. It's made for sales and marketing folks. Marketo is built for bigger teams with engineers and CRM experts. Marketo is better for nurture campaigns and automated email, plus database management and as a CRM. But Persist is a much lighter option and it's WAY cheaper.

I've used the Gmail plug-in for HubSpot and their templates feature. It's not great for bulk email or building out campaigns, but it's nice to have canned messages right in Gmail. To use PersistIQ on the other hand, one must work directly in their system, not in Gmail, although replies and sent messages do go directly though the email provider.

I haven't used many other mass email tools, but when I was investigating, PersistIQ was a very good bang for the buck. They are a relatively small investment for the technology, compared to their competitors. I also love that I can always email or use the widget to reach customer service and they are back in touch with me helping very fast.

MailChimp isn't for cold emails, it is used for newsletters, and I think that if we were to try our campaign on MailChimp they would shut our account down within a matter of hours without any chance of recovery. PersistIQ is clear about what they are supposed to be used for and fill a gap in the market for those interested in cold emailing people, even though some may not see it as the best marketing tactic.
