My experience with Scale support has been phenomenal and I would almost recommend them based entirely on this fact alone. They have always been extremely responsive and helpful. Any time a drive has failed (which isn't often), they've sent a replacement over night without all of the hassle that other server manufacturers might make you go through. If a drive has failed, I don't see the need to perform extensive hardware tests or attempt to re-install the OS (I'm looking at you, Dell).

Experience

Had a hardware issue with one node in a cluster. Ended up having to get a replacement node after working to try and get the existing node up and running after hours. Dealt with level 1 support all the way up to level 3 and a developer. All were on top of things and made sure I was back up and running as soon as the new node was on site.

From the sales department to the support team -- The Scale team is always there to help out. Quick support, with a good knowledge staff - you know you will get the support you need when you call Scale. Very happy with the support I receive from the team.

I have, quite simply, never worked with a smarter, more competent, more dedicated support team than that which Scale has assembled. They have always gone out of their way to solve problems, offering to help with issues out of their scope and generally going very clearly above and beyond. I don't say this lightly. I've served my time behind the helldesk. I know what other support teams go through.

That said, Scale has manged to foster an environment in which its support staff truly believe in the company, truly care about their customers and strive for excellence. Jibbers knows I never had that much zeal when I did my time. I've nothing but respect for Scale's astounding Datacenter Butlers.

3 things in big bold letters as loud as I can shout it:

1. North American Technical support with people that have used and designed it

2. 72 hours turn around for build, shipping, configuration, migration, and online status

3. Engineers helped us all weekend long, into the morning hours until we were 100% status. not just online, but 100% running smooth.

Their support team has been amazing. We have not had any hardware issues to date but several software questions. Each case is answered timely and if the need is urgent, when you call they have always picked up the ticket while on the phone and helped to address the issue or answer any questions.

Every time that I have called Scale the phone has been answered by a human being who either was the person who could answer my question or solve my problem, or I was connected directly to that person by the one who answered. Every support event has been a pleasant learning experience, where I felt like I was working with an expert. On one occasion the Scale support staff could have taken the position that the problem was a Microsoft driver issue, but they dug in and resolved the problem none-the-less. Scale support is the best I deal with (among dozens of companies).

I have never had to wait for a support rep to assist me they are always a call and very knowledgeable unlike other companies where you have to submit a ticket via email and wait days, with Scale pick up the phone and someone will help you.

Each time we have initiated contact with Scale Computing by phone our call has been answered by a Scale engineer who has then walked us through answering our question or resolving our issue. If the issue was not an immediate fix they have stayed with us through resolution offering timely updates along the way.

Support is the key difference between products. The Scale solution is a great product with a ton of smart people developing the solution with innovative forward thinking strategies to supply an alternative to the traditional products. With all that goes into the design we just want it to work, and the ability to call and get someone without delay who is close to the development of the product is paramount. This company separates themselves by following up and ensuring you are satisfied.

And now we come to a US-based, quick-to-respond, confident, professional support team.
Their assistance during initial setup was patient and informative. Their training is excellent. Our couple of support incidents in the first 2 months (involving things like cluster notifications we simply didn't understand yet) were handled quickly and very satisfactorily.

They are quick, knowledgeable, and very easy to work with. They can understand even the most difficult explanation as to what is happening and find a resolution in a quick amount of time. They are great to work with during a new install and assisting in migrating different types of VM's over to their platform.
